The Gerald R. Ford Council is proud to participate in the Scouting for Food Good Turn. Each March Cub Scout Packs, Boy Scout Troops, and Venture Crew across twelve west Michigan counties go door to door to collect non-perishable food items. These food items are then turned into local food pantries, churches, and community organizations to be redistributed to those that need it. Every year over 100,000 items are collected and redistributed. The Scouting for Food program is one of many “Good Turns” that you and your unit can participate in. Please mark your calendar and watch for details in 2006 so you to can do your “Good Turn”. There will be information at the January Roundtable on Scouting for Food. If you have questions please contact us at the DeVos Family Center for Scouting.
